Samsung Doesn’t Want You To Play Fortnite On Their Demo Phones Just To Get Skins

Fortnite

But you’re still gonna do it anyway, so…

Fortnite‘s Android Beta Came with a few extra perks for those that pre-ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 9: 15,000 V-Bucks. Or a free set of headphones, but why would you choose that? But, in addition to that, if you played 3 games on a Note 9 or a Tab  S4, you also got a free, exclusive skin. Here’s how you would’ve gotten it legitimately:

  1. Download Fortnite on your Galaxy Note9 or Tab S4 from the Samsung folder > Galaxy Apps and tap on the Fortnite Banner.
  2. Tap INSTALL AND OPEN in the Quick Installation Pop-up, then read through and accept the terms and conditions.
Note: This will install and open the Fortnite Installer and Fortnite on your Galaxy Note9 or Tab S4.
  3. Once logged in, play three matches of Fortnite on your Note9 or Tab S4 device.
  4. Tap the “Return to Lobby” button after being eliminated or winning a match for it to count toward the three matches you need to complete.
  5. After three matches are complete, allow 24-48 hours to receive a gift box in Fortnite with your Galaxy Skin. Tap the gift box to open and use your Galaxy Skin.

Of course, people found a way around, you know, actually having to buy one of these devices. Specifically, by doing these steps:

  1. Go to a store with demo units
  2. Install Fortnite on a demo unit
  3. Log in to their Epic Games account
  4. Playing the requisite 3 games without getting caught and tossed out like a bum.
  5. ???
  6. Profit

Samsung, however, found out about this horseshit, and was less than thrilled.

Nonetheless, people still kept finding ways to do it.

I was in the exact same situation with retail mode at Best Buy, but I got it to work! Solution: right when you need to sign into fortnite, I disconnected from their WiFi and connected to my phone’s hotspot. That bypassed their network’s restriction and let me get online and play my games! That was the Verizon demo device at the carrier tables, not the one at the Samsung table. Those at the Samsung table were programmed to not download the Fortnite installer and I couldn’t find a workaround.

There is one caveat; each device can only redeem one skin. Ever. So, the longer this goes on, the less likely you are to find a unit that you can pull this crap on. Or, you know, you could just buy a legit device like a normal person.

Ya’ll need Jesus.
