Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Will Include Knuckles As Playable

The Sega Ages version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was announced ages ago. For whatever reason the game just sort of went dark without much information, something strange as this game is decades old and has been portered to just about everything with a screen.

We recently got word about the Switch project in the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu on the “Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2” mode for the game. This mode was available in the cartridge original thanks to the magic on lock-on technology.

Not sure how this added mode, which the code for already exists, takes a whole year to make work, but beggars can’t be choosers. Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will also include “Super Sonic Mode,” online rankings, and other features that have yet to be announced.

It’s a wickedly important game that everyone should play, so if you have a Nintendo Switch it’s a total must, especially if you loved Sonic Mania. We still don’t have a release date but one would expect a 2020 release date.
