Square Enix Puts Stop To Streams Of Left Alive

Left Alive

It’s… it’s not a good thing.

Square Enix’s Left Alive – a side game set in the universe of the Front Mission series – saw release in Japan on February 28th. And initially, streamers were allowed to stream the game all they wanted, with the exception of certain recording-blocked cutscenes. But the weekend didn’t exactly go well for the game, and SE decided that maybe allowing streams of the game was a bad idea. So, it’s now completely blocked.

Over on Amazon Japan, the game is sitting at 1.5 stars, with a little over three-quarters of the reviews giving it a 1/5 score. According to Siliconera, those reviews cite bad controls, bad design, poor character animations, and less than stellar graphics. And most of those were from before the streaming ban.

But wait; it gets worse. Because the game experienced a 50% price cut on Amazon after less than a week on the market. Initially priced at ¥ 8,964, it’s now going for ¥ 4,442.

If you want to see what Left Alive is really like, though, you won’t be waiting too long. It releases in the West today, March 5th, for both PC and PS4.
