Terrifying Fallout 4 Mod “Pilgrim”

Creepy Lighting? Check. Grim atmosphere? check. Fallout 4? Also check.

Pilgrim – Dread the Commonwealth is a mod for Fallout 4 aiming to give the game more of a horror experience. A specific one, in fact; much of the mod’s touches are based on Roger Eggar’s The Witch. There are even plans to replace Dogmeat’s model with the film’s resident terrifying goat Black Phillip. Right now, you have hellhound Dogmeat and his glowing eyes.

It’s not all just weather, lighting and sound, either. In addition to a film grain filter, they’re also emulating the way light hits a film lens. There’s also an original soundtrack, with a dynamic music system that adjusts itself based on a host of variables.

Pilgrimmod

I can honestly say it looks damn creepy. And what’s more, it works surprisingly well with the remnants of a zeerust future present in Fallout 4. Everything that’s rundown and rusted out suddenly takes on a more sinister air in the mod.

It’s also worth noting that Fallout 4 is free to play on Steam this weekend. If you were looking for an opportunity to try the game out, this is it. 2 whole days to play it (or actually like 8-12 hours, after it finishes downloading). Get in there, pal; you’re SPECIAL.
