The Apple Watch has the highest markup of any Apple product yet

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch is a neat piece of kit. While I don’t quite see wearables as the net big thing –no matter how much all these tech companies that email me try to convince me it is– Apple has something that is much cooler in person. Seriously, I thought the watch a silly thing, but after getting to try it out I enjoyed it –Not enough to buy or recommend it mind you.

The price is one things that is just painful to the average consumer, but such is always the case with everything Apple. But do the components that make up the Apple Watch actually justify the price point? If the following list is anything to go by, the answer is a resounding no. In fact, the Apple Watch has the highest markup of any Apple product.

Apple Watch Parts Cost

Everything included in the watches internals including the various chips, sensors,  engines and other bits and bobs only total up to a measly $81.20 while the watch retails at it’s most basic form at $349. Yikes, that is a pretty huge markup. The $81.20 also takes into account the manufacturing costs of the watch itself.
