Being as I write on the internet for a living, the chances that I’ll ever own a Tesla Model S are somewhere between jack and shit. Still, I now have another option to at least ride in one; that is if I’m willing to get arrested by the LAPD.

The LAPD introduced one of the all-electric Tesla Model S (P85D) last week to its fleet of cruisers, no doubt to arrest those Hollywood stars in style after their dinners at Spago. Still, while the Tesla Model S is electric, it is lighting fast. Odds are you won’t be outrunning this one, and as Los Angeles sees a car chase on TV every other day, this is great marketing for Telsa! It should also be noted that the Model S is the one that comes with a built-in Insane button for that extra boost.

The base price of the Model S runs at $105,000, but if you live in LA you don’t have to worry, the car is on loan from Tesla.
