Knee Deep in the Dead
Porting Doom to various systems has been a hobbyist thing for years. I’m pretty sure one of these jackasses got Doom running on a graphing calculator or something (imagine that, I was actually guessing). But you don’t need that today. You can get the original 3 games – DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3 – on all modern consoles; that’s right, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Coincidentally, Bethesda has also released the first two on iOS and Android.
Regardless, the official Bethesda ports of the original games are now legally available on all consoles. And they won’t break the bank, either. DOOM and DOOM II cost $5 each, while DOOM 3 will run you $10. And they’re available now. There seems to be a few little issues to be ironed out, but that shouldn’t be much of a bother.
Rip and tear, until it is done.
