The Most Successful Video Game Movies

Most Successful Video Game Movies

Video games have become such a successful industry, that it’s no surprise when a game franchise branches out to other avenues. While toys and merchandise are ever popular, the big money stakes can often be seen in movies. Many video games have tried and failed (think Super Mario Bros. ala 1993), but other spin-offs have seen a big success.

These movies include the top grossing international sellers according to Forbes. Honorable Mention is given to Mortal Kombat as a domestic hit, and one of the first movie adaptation successes starting in 1995. Notable as a success for having multiple box office hits are the Resident Evil and Tomb Raider series.
