The Most Wholesome Pokemon Game Returns In New Pokemon Snap

My experience with the Pokemon franchise began and ended with Pokemon Yellow. I had a good time with the game but the Game Boy was never my cup of tea, at least not until the GBA came around.

But while I missed most of the Pokemon core series on the platform, I didn’t miss out on what I think is the most wholesome Pokemon experience with Pokemon Snap on the N64.

I love that game so much that I play through it a few times a year because of how relaxing and stress-free it is. You’d be surprised that even after all of these years I’m still finding ways to snap new photos of the original Pokemon generation.

I also dust off the game when people come over to my house. It’s the perfect game for little kids and keeps them super entertained, but it’s also great for those people who aren’t gamers or aren’t into the intense games of the modern age.

And now it looks like The Pokemon Company is bringing back the series in New Pokemon Snap. The game is heavily inspired by Pokemon Snap for the N64 and features a tons of locations where you can research Pokemon by filling up your Photodex.

I haven’t placed a Pokemon game on my must-have list in a very long time but you better believe this one is a day-one pickup. At a time when everything outside is so stressful, difficult, and tiring, it’ll be good to shut off the world for a little while and take photos of cute Pokemon.
