The Oculus Go Launched Today

Oculus Go

Probably the best “Go” thing out now.

Th Oculus Go, a mobile-capable headset that lets you take your VR with you sans-smartphone, went on sale today. It’s available in 23 countries for $199 US for the 32GB version and $249 for the 64GB version. And it’s probably one of, if not the, easiest ways to to get into VR.

The Oculus Go is a bit like the Gear VR; it tracks head movement, but not full motion, and uses a remote for limited pointing tasks. That said, the benefit is that it’s a standalone product; you don’t need to connect to a phone or computer to use it. It also has access to the Gear VR catalog, so there’s already a library for the product.

You can get your very own Oculus Go through Oculus’s website, as well as Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg. As a side bonus, you can actually test the headset out at participating Best Buy locations.
