Theme Hospital Is Now Free On Origin

Theme Hospital

Oh, Bullfrog, how I miss the days when you pushed video games into new territories with games like the legendary Magic Carpet and Theme Park. The official sequel to Theme Park, Theme Hospital, while much different from the first game is still a fine game in its own right. I bring this up because Origin, the EA online game distribution platform, has done it again with another free game offering.

Theme Hospital revolves around buying and placing rooms in a hospital, and hiring all manner of employees to operate it. Some rooms are required for the running of the hospital, such as Staff Rooms, and Toilets, while others provide optional services such as General Diagnosis rooms, Scanner Rooms and X-Rays. Some rooms are dedicated to the treatment of a specific illness, and a number of rooms contain machinery that has to be repaired occasionally. Rooms are divided into 4 categories: Diagnosis, Treatment, Clinics and Facilities and patients come in looking for cures to all sorts of comical diseases.

I have not been one to pay much attention to the Origin service since it was brought online (I only have a single purchase to date), but with the excellent classic games they have been making free to users I’m starting to come around. This new “on the house” system has me eagerly awaiting each subsequent release. So, go load up (or download) Origin and click on the Theme Hospital page to snag this awesome game.
