Tony Goldwyn to play Mormon cult leader for Lifetime

Perfect casting alert: According to Vulture, Scandal‘s Tony Goldwyn has been cast as Warren Jeffs in the Lifetime movie Outlaw Prophet, which will be based on the book When Men Become Gods by Stephen Singular, whose name makes him sound like a character in a Neal Stephenson book.

We’re used to seeing him as the President; now we’ll see him as the President…of having too many wives! How many pickle jars can one man open in a day, amirite, fellas?

In all seriousness, Jeffs is a cult leader and rapist serving consecutive life sentences in Texas. As opposed to Goldwyn, who’s going to be serving a Lifetime sentence!

The only problem with true stories is that we know how they end. I think Lifetime should take a little artistic liberty and give Outlaw Prophet the ending it deserves:
