Transformers: Robots in Disguise “Deep Trouble”

Any gamer worth their salt knows that underwater levels suck. They have always sucked. They will always suck. This time, the bots decided to play Marine Boy on the latest episode of Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

Everyone that isn’t Bumblebee or Drift is running an obstacle course. All of them take care to avoid running into the obstacles, except for Grimlock. Near the finish line, all of them avoid a swinging trap, but Grimlock decides to tank it.

This kind of shit blew up an Imperial AT-ST, dude. You should probably be careful.

Grimlock immediately begins covering for his injury. Bumblebee takes what he says at face value, and compounds the problem by telling Grimlock how important he is to the team. So there’s the conflict for this one.

The Deceptcon this episode is an alter kocker octopus that transforms into a submarine named Octopunch. They pick up his signal offshore, and decide it’s finally time to test that sweet ground bridge they got. Fixit thinks it will work… probably. Well, it does, and they walk through it to the bottom of the ocean successfully. Unfortunately, Fixit didn’t account for the fact that the ground bridge works both ways and the bottom of the ocean is filled with water. So the Junkyard gets flooded with salt water.

Bwahaha! Nothing will ever grow there again!

The bots are using their coms so that they can coordinate underwater. This makes it difficult for Strongarm to get Octopunch’s attention to inform him he’s under arrest. At least she resisted the urge to read him his rights, which he wouldn’t have heard. He doesn’t want to go peacefully, though, and starts chucking the rocks he’s clearing from the crashed Cybertronian space ship he was salvaging at the bots. When they rush him, he picks each of them up in a tentacle and throws them to the sea floor. This gets him enough of an opening to get inside the ship and activate the defenses, forcing Bee and company to hide in the coral to avoid getting hit.

Sideswipe notices that the weapons are firing in a pattern, and times the whole thing out, leading the group tio cover underneath the secondary hatch. Grimlock gets them through a blast door, but shows pain in doing so. Sideswipe asks him if he’s okay, and Grimlock covers again. Octopunch starts one of the engines, however, and that makes their mission more pressing. Octopunch, seeing that the Autobots have gotten into the ship, activates the internal defenses.this leads to Sideswipe, Drift and his pupils getting separated from the others. Bee and co. come to a three way fork, and he makes the brilliant decision to split the party.

Strongarm gets chucked into a holding cell, and her radio picks up nothing but ranchera music. Grimlock is pushing through the pain, and runs into Bumblebee, once again covering for his injury. They find themselves in a communication hub, when they’re suddenly set upon by nanodrones that can attack through their armor. The third engine starts. Grimlock musters the strength to mess with a comm terminal, which just happens to send out a sound wave that shorts out the nanodrones.

Bumblebee realizes that Grimlock’s been hiding his injury the entire time. Bee sets the record straight, and helps Grimlock up. Drift and his pupils, meanwhile, are meditating in the hopes that they will come up with a solution to their problem. Sideswipe eventually gives up and joins them.

Bumblebee and Grimlock reach the bridge, and Octopunch inks them. He then goes about tentacle whipping them, until Bee ties two of his tentacles around a pipe hanging from the ceiling. Grimlock follows suit and they bind up all of his tentacles, leaving him open to good old fashioned punching.

"Do you know why we're bringing you in?" "Antisemitism?" "Guess again."

Bee has Grimlock smash the control panel. Which turns out to be a mistake, because it triggers the self destruct mechanism. Luckily, it opens all of the interior doors, freeing the rest of the bots. They aren’t going to get outside of the ship before the ship explodes. They call on Fixit to open the ground bridge for them. Denny, Russell and Fixit have been cleaning up the mess from the last time, and Denny’s not happy about it, but what’s he gonna do? They need it. They get across just in time to avoid one of Michael Bay’s sexual fantasies.

With Octopunch in the cooler, they can rest easy. Bumblebee asks Fixit to take a look at Grimlock. Fixit deploys his system probe, and the traumatized Strongarm decides she wants to be nowhere near that mess.

Fuck it, I'm out. See you never.
