– Skyrim Stinks

Skyrim doesn’t deserve all the praise it gets IMO. The combat is quite frankly awful, whilst the world is huge it doesn’t look all that good. Most Bethesda RPG’s don’t really do anything for me. Not a whole lot special about them.

– A Chrono Crisis

Chrono Trigger is boring.

Who Said Bigger Is Better?

The Open World fad needs to end. I personally enjoyed a few open world games here and there, but not every single game needs to follow the same formula. Beautiful landscapes are nice but when you spend 80% of a game traveling for point A to point B looking at the same scenery it gets old really really fast.

– Majora’s Snore

I really didn’t enjoy Majora’s Mask. The whole timing concept took away the slow and steady exploring I like to do. I’m sure I would have liked it had I not felt like someone was whispering “Hurry up! No time to waste!” to me. Still felt this way even after the slow time and turn back time songs. I wanna like it, but I can’t.

– Serious Business

Most games nowadays try too hard to be meaningful and mature because players have grown too insecure about their hobby and want to prove to themselves and others that they don’t just enjoy pressing buttons, but actually play them for the mature STORY and EMOTIONAL CONNECTION and such nonsense. Examples are God of War, Last of Us and Uncharted. These games would be considered mediocre to below-average if it didn’t appeal to these players. That isn’t too say story can’t make a game better and more memorable, though!

– Horrific

Resident Evil 6 is not only extremely fun, but the best Resident Evil game.

– Life Is Lame

Life is strange is a really poorly written game. The main character is way too earnest and too often would have way too intense “omg youre the best person ever im always gonna be there for you” conversations from the start of the fucking game. None of the characters except chloe had any meaningful or earned progression. The symbolism was either way too obvious (e.g. the butterfly) or too vague with no pay off (e.g. the deer). Mainly though the dialogue feels like a 40 year old trying to impress his 11 year old niece (e.g. “youre gonna get in hella trouble for this”). Every seems to praise this games story telling but i couldnt stand it.

– Metroid Crime

Metroid Prime is and always has been deeply overrated. Bad controls, sleepy pacing, padded level design (there’s no such thing as adjacent rooms in Prime, there’s always another pointless fucking corridor). It was a rough approximation of the metroid formula but managed to make it tedious. Art direction and soundtrack were pretty great, although the Gamecube hardware made every game sound like a podcast. I’d sooner play NES Metroid over Prime, and time has not been kind to NES Metroid.

– Not So Super Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey is a boring, thoroughly mediocre platformer, and if it was called Gary the Plumber’s Magical Hat Adventure and it was on Xbox One, it would be like an 80 on Metacritic. But because it’s a Nintendo game we all have to sit around fawning like they’ve just invented fire. Sunshine was better.

– Rotten Chilidogs

I liked Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, yeah it has some issues but it’s no where near as bad as people like to make it out to be although the constant quips from Sonic and the gang can be a bit grating.
