Warner Bros. Officially Announces MultiVersus

MultiVersus

Like, get over here, man.

It may have been leaked a few weeks back, but Warner Bros. has officially announced MultiVersus, their mascot fighter featuring a cross-section of the properties they own.

They’re doing things a little differently, here. Notably, every character has a MOBA-like class (Assassin, Mage, tank/defender). The game will also be Free-to-Play, with both cross-play and cross-progression, so it doesn’t matter where you play, you’ll keep your progress. They’re also putting in the effort to make sure that the online connectivity is the best it can be (rollback netcode). Oh, yeah, and they’re leaning into the Shaggy meme.

MultiVersus
This, like, isn’t even his final form, man. Warner Bros.

They also plan on releasing more characters and stage over time. Here’s the roster they showed off:

  • Norville “Shaggy” Rogers (0.000000001% power) (Scooby-Doo)
  • Original the Character, Do Not Steal
  • Steven Universe (Steven Universe)
  • Garnet (Steven Universe)
  • Harley Quinn (DC Comics)
  • Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
  • Finn (Adventure Time)
  • Wonder Woman
  • Jake (Adventure Time)
  • Superman (DC Comics)
  • Batman (DC Comics)
  • Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
  • Tom & Jerry (MGM Shorts)

And call me crazy, but I have the sneaking suspicion that two of the fighters on the way are Gandalf the Grey and Rick Sanchez. And all seem to be fully voiced, either by their original actors (current official, at least) or reasonable understudies.
