Wet Hot American Summer series coming to Netflix, with original cast members

Man, I came back from CES to nothing but awesome TV news. The AV Club is reporting that Netflix has begun production an eight-episode Wet Hot American Summer series – which might be a prequel, because everyone involved in this is insane and awesome.

From The AV Club:

There’s no word yet on exact plot details, though it’s long been said that the plan is for a Wet Hot American Summer prequel, with all of the actors playing younger versions of their already-way-too-young roles.

Confirmed to return are not only director David Wain, but cast members Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, and Amy Poehler (the return of Janeane Garafolo, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, et al., is likely but unconfirmed).
