Windows 10 To Stop Being Sold At The End Of The Month

Windows 10

Nooo, don’t leave…

Yes, it’s true, Windows 10 is riding into the sunset. Specifically, Microsoft will stop selling it on January 31st, 2023. And oh boy, are there reasons to be sad about it.

The news comes from PC World, which discovered the news at the bottom of the Windows 10 download page. The footnote is as follows:

January 31, 2023 will be the last day this Windows 10 download is offered for sale. Windows 10 will remain supported with security updates that help protect your PC from viruses, spyware, and other malware until October 14, 2025.

The good news is that, while you won’t be able to purchase it from Microsoft anymore, it will still be supported by the company for the next 2 years and some change. And key resellers will still be a thing, though those keys are going to get a bit more scarce as time goes on.

The downside is that, soon enough, you’re going to have to upgrade to Windows 11; and that’s a whole kettle of fish I’m not even familiar with yet. But you’ve got until the end of the month to grab Windows 10 for $139.00 over on Microsoft’s site.
