Windows 10 wants you to spend $15 to watch DVD’s

Windows 10 DVD app

So, you just updated to Windows 10, just finished adjusting your privacy setting, laughed at Microsoft trying to get you to pay for Solitaire, and are now ready to enjoy a good old fashioned movie night. Looking for something a little newer, you spring for the RedBox down the road and come home with a DVD of the latest Liam “I to old for this shit” Neeson action flick only to find out you have a problem.

You clearly have a DVD drive in your laptop as this we aren’t living in 2003 anymore, yet something seems to be amiss. For whatever reason Windows 10 doesn’t come with the any built-in software to play DVDs of any kind. Fair enough in this age of streaming I guess, but jumping onto the Windows Store you make a shocking discovery -the Windows 10 DVD player costs $15 fucking dollars!

That’s highway robbery on the grandest of scales, not becuase we all know it stupid, but because most users that aren’t all that tech savvy, or are buying a new PC in the near future are going to fall for this scam. We recommend that you download VLC player instead as that application won’t cost you a dime and is superior in every way to the Windows 10 DVD app.
