Everything is lining up for another X-Files event series

X-Files

IGN.com recently sat down and spoke with X-Files series creator Chris Carter about what is next for the much-loved series. Those that watched the revived series are aware that it ended with a cliffhanger ending. People, of course, expected a resolve of some sort, but FOX has been tight-lipped about what is next for the series.

X-Files fans simply want to know the truth and Carter said that hopefully more X-Files is on the way. Carter stated that, “Fox wants to do more. The ratings were good so there’s an appetite for more, I’m very pleased with the work that we did so I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be more.”

Speaking on the two leads Carter also noted that they, and their reps are all for the duo coming back for another X-Files run to tie up loose ends, while creating more in the process. This new format is exciting, mimicking a more British approach that gives longer spaces between seasons.

Here is to hoping that FOX makes an official announcement soon as it does sound like everyone is on-board for another go. The X-Files Event Series hits Blu-ray and DVD on May 25.
