There’s nothing quite like the smell of a Christmas tree. And Amazon knows it. Because this year, Amazon has full size Christmas trees for sale.
You can have your pick of a Douglas fir, Norfolk Island pine, or a Frasier fir. They ship it to you within 10 days of cutting it down. And, best of all, it qualifies for Prime free shipping.
Granted, this isn’t the first time Amazon has offered trees; They’ve sold 3′ trees in the past. But this is the first time full size trees have been available from the online retailer.
According to the Associated Press, a Douglas fir will run you about $115. Moreover, you’ll have your choice of delivery date; literally at your convenience. All that said, it doesn’t seem likely to beat out the time-honored tradition of going to pick out your own tree. Not only do you get your pick of the lot (Amazon picks which tree you get), you also get the floor show. That is to say, watching someone (your parents, if you’re a kid) either wheel and deal the salesman, or get unbelievably, catastrophically mad. Classic.
