Apex Legends Tournament Broadcast Gets Delayed Due To Recent Shootings

Apex Legends

No shooty bang bang games until Spooktober.

The The EXP Invitational Apex Legends at X Games tournament was originally meant to air this Sunday, August 11th, on ABC. That’s not happening anymore. Per Rod Breslau:

Rather, the airing of the recap will instead be pushed back several months “out of respect for the victims and all those impacted by the recent shootings”. The memo is from August 6th, two days after the shooting in Dayton.

While the tournament in question happened on August 2nd and 3rd, the broadcast of the highlight show is pushed back almost a full 2 months, to Sunday, October 6th on ESPN2, followed by repeat airings on Tuesday, October 15th, and Sunday, October 27th.

It’s something of a shame, as this was to be the first time an Apex Legends tourney would air on television in the US. In its place on August 6th, the network will run a hockey documentary titled E:60 Forever Broncos.
