The best things start as April Fool’s jokes.
Many a fan has some good memories of Street Fighter EX. Except me; I’m terrible at fighting games (and by fighting games, I mean everything). But nothing lasts forever. All of SF EX’s new fighters never got to World Warrior it up again.
Many feared they were consigned to the abyss, which is where the X-Men currently live. But hark, what is that on the horizon of March 31st?
Gasp, they’re back, just like your dream of playing Nipples the Enchilada in Crush Sisters Fisticuffs! Oh wait, it’s just an April Fools joke…
Yeah, just like Toonami, th’ ol’ EX is back, baby, and with some additions. Arika is making it into its own thing, after all. The recent video shows off two new characters; Skullomania, and Darun Mister. Skullomania looks like a Sentai character of some sort. Darun Mister seems to fight almost exclusively by shoving people into his crotch.
The best part of all of it, though? EX is going to launch on April Fool’s day, 2018… in Japan. Sad, I know, but in all likelihood, it’ll hop the pond soon after, given the interest it’s generated among fighting game fans. There’s a beta scheduled for the end of the year in Japan, so hopefully there will soon be more to whet your appetite.
