Benedict Cumberbatch to voice Shere Khan in The Jungle Book: Origins

Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch has been on a roll as of late. Unlike many of his contemporaries he seems to be enjoying lending his unique voice to bringing to life a number of animated characters.

The Sherlock star will now be lending his voice to yet another famous character, this time to the villainous tiger Shere Khan in Jungle Book: Origins (no relation to Wolverine: Origins).

This film is put together by Warner Bros. and looks to be up against Disney with their own live action adaptation in the works, also with an all-star cast. While DC and Marvel have their battle for supremacy coming, it now seems Warner Bros and Disney also has theirs.

The Jungle Book: Origins is being directed by Lord of the Rings actor, Andy Serkis with a script by Callie Kloves and produced by her father, Harry Potter screenwriter, Steve Kloves.

The film is scheduled for release October, 21 2016
