Brandon Routh Reportedly Returning To Superman Role For Arrowverse Crossover

Thankfully, no mention of Kevin Spacey.

You know, Superman Returns probably wasn’t the Superman movie a lot of fans wanted at the time. But it’s safe to say that had little to do with Brandon Routh’s portrayal of the character. For what they did with the film, he was, perhaps, the perfect choice.

Well, the nice thing is, he’ll be wearing the tights again. Because rumor has it that in this year’s Arrowverse crossover, he’ll be playing Superman again. How they plan to reconcile that with his ongoing role in the Arrowverse as Ray Palmer isn’t exactly clear. Supposedly, both Routh and Hoechlin will play the character during different time frames. Which mostly just leaves you scratching your head, since neither actor really resembles the other too much. But whatever.

Since this crossover is based on Crisis on Infinite Earths, there’s probably going to be some crazy stuff going down to make that possible. We’ll probably know more as we approach December.

Though I guess you could say “Superman Actually Returns”.
