Natalie Portman is Female Thor in upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder

Thor 4 is happening with Taika Waititi at the helm once again. Today during the Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con we got our first details about the next installment of the Thor mythos.

Hitting theaters November 5th of 2021, Thor: Love and Thunder will see Natalie Portman wield a magic hammer as female Thor. Portman joined Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and director Waititi on stage for the announcement.

Portman came out on stage with Thor’s hammer and told the audience that it was great to be back in the MCU, but this time with a Hammer.

There is not finalized script at the moment but the story is being adapted from The Mighty Thor comic book series that saw Jane take up the mantle of Thor while male Thor was going through some stuff.

The story would fit well in the MCU as New Asgard has no Thor protecting it with Hemsworth out with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Valkyrie leading her people.
