Cable Channel In The Philippines Runs Pirated Copy Of Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame

Literally a day after the premiere.

According to the Philippine News Agency, a cable company in the Philippines was so brazen as to run a pirated copy of Avengers: Endgame the day after it premiered. And yeah, it’s one of those incredibly low quality bootlegs. Not only are fans pissed, local theater Teatro de Dapitan is suing them for it. The Russo brothers’ open letter didn’t really account for this scenario, eh?

Then again, this isn’t the first time Orient cable company has done something like this. Hell, they technically didn’t stop airing pirated content. When Teatro de Dapitan went to the cops, the company stopped running their pirated copy of Avengers: Endgame, and instead began running a pirated copy of Captain Barbel, a Philippine-made superhero movie.

Orient may have really stepped in it this time. The Mouse is very protective of its IP. And, you know, Disney is super litigious about it. There’s no word from Disney on the matter, but I’d expect something. And soon.
