CES 2022: Black+Decker Enters The Home Bar Robot Market

Black+Decker

Happy 4:00 PM Paulie.

Black+Decker has decided to get into the home bartender bot market with their new Bev device. They showed the new appliance off at CES 2022.

Bev has the capability of holding up to 5 bottles, plus a water reservoir. And, thankfully, it taps into them right side up, so none of your sweet, sweet booze is at risk of spilling.

As this is Black+Decker’s first foray into bar bots, they collaborated on Bev with Bartesian, who also offer a similar device. The deal, in this case, is that Bev uses Bartesian’s mixer pods; Kurig K-cup-like pods with various non-alcoholic mixes to allow the machine to make your selected cocktail. And in a stunning twist, at $299.99, Black+Decker’s Bev costs less than Bartesian’s machine.

As for whether it’ll be worth your money, well, Greg from HowToDrink reviewed a couple of these, one of them being Bartesian’s own bar bot. He… was not fond of either of them.

Is it for you? Who knows! But if you’re interested, the Black+Decker Bev goes on sale Spring 2022.
