Christopher Robin Movie Banned in China Due To Reasons of Pooh

Christopher Robin

Willy, nilly, silly old bear.

You know, Ewan McGregor is currently starring in that new Christopher Robin movie. Probably in a hopeful bid for that Obi-Wan movie everyone, including him, wants. The problem is, I don’t think Christopher Robin is gonna fly in China. Because it’s been preemptively banned.

Now, we here at GAMbIT would never think of making fun of the leader of a world superpower. Especially if that leader was, say, really touchy about comparisons to a cartoon bear. A cartoon bear which happens to feature heavily in Christopher Robin (in theaters NOW). Even if GAMbIT is already banned in China, and that leader is exceptionally Pooh-bear-like in the face. Not in a million years would we make fun of him by, say, photoshopping his face onto Winnie the Pooh.

We would never, ever do that.Disney

Or mock that maybe real, maybe not laser gun China may or may not have.

Laser Gun
Disney, China

But, while we wouldn’t do such things, the fact that Christopher Robin (in theaters NOW) features Winnie the Pooh, is probably the reason it’s banned in China, along with all other Pooh-related things. The poor Chinese audiences will never know the delightfull trippiness of the Heffalumps and Woozles song.

Oh, bother.
