Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer to Become Stand Alone Show

Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segment has been fairly popular. So much so, in fact, that TBS has decided to pick up a full-fledged show adapted from it. Granted, the segment’s popularity is slightly less of a surprise when you consider the rather staggering number of Let’s Play channels on YouTube. None of those, however, have Conan’s trademark wit; hands down the segment’s greatest boon.
The segments, for the uninitiated, revolve around Conan and a celebrity du jour playing a recently released game. Of course, Conan’s relative inexperience and acerbic observations serve as the basis for the humor, hence the title “Clueless Gamer”. Due to their success, it’s become somewhat popular for developers to try and get their games on the segment. One can only imagine how much harder they’ll be trying to do so with a full show.

There’s no word on when the show will premiere, though it appears Conan will only executive produce. In other words, he’ll have little to do with the show proper. With no named host, but a vague production date sometime in February, it’s anyone’s guess who the show will center upon. Though, needless to say, NBC is probably still kicking themselves over letting Conan go.
