Yes, seriously, this appears to be happening. Plenty of people have fond memories of Crocodile Dundee, and progressively less for its sequels. Well, prepare of a “Son of” sequel, starring Danny McBride as the American city slicking son Mick Dundee and the audience never knew he had.
Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under. It’s time to live up to the family name.
Tonally, this is pretty much impossible to follow right now. On the flip side, Paul Hogan does seem to be involved with the movie, so who knows. Maybe it’s just first impressions and the film won’t be exactly like the second half of the trailer. Danny McBride’s pretty good, and I’m never getting a Lightning Jack sequel, so I guess we’ll see.
