Game of Thrones Writer/Producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been tapped for a Star Wars Trilogy, according to Deadline.
The news, which comes just a few months ahead of Solo: A Star Wars Film, seems likely to elicit an element of stability, as the duo is known for working well with the creations of others. The proposed trilogy will be separate from the Rian Johnson-directed trilogy already announced.
The new trilogy will also be separate from the current trilogy, though there aren’t any details that hint in what way. Honestly, it might give the sort of breathing room necessary for the films to succeed. Doubly so if Kathleen Kennedy can let them be.
