Batman beat the hell out of me, and knocked me to the floor. I got back up, and knocked him to the floor. He was being such a jackoff.
Oh, DC. You had one job. I was even being as nice as I could be.
But the trailer for DC’s Titans was released today at SDCC. And we’re all just done.
“Fuck Batman!”
Warner Bros. has fucked this up in much the same way they’ve fucked up every movie other than Wonder Woman. And I’m beginning to suspect that one was a fluke.
“Fuck Batman,” Robin said. “He once tried to feed me rats.“
Look, I came around to the fact that Teen Titans Go wasn’t bad. It was still sad seeing an action cartoon die and be replaced with a comedy like that, because western action cartoons are like unicorns. But going the extreme opposite direction is far worse. And while it’s technically not in continuity with either cartoon, that feels like the direction Titans is taking. “We need to make this as dark as out shitty movies are.”
And it’s just sad, because there’s no reason they can’t mix both. Shit, that’s what their animation division has been doing pretty well for years.
I’d argue that you should have those writers on the job, instead. But what do I know, right?
