Survivors is just a spinoff.

So Dead Island Survivors just launched. And you might think that was the end of Dead Island 2. You would, however, be wrong, according to Deep Silver. Even though we haven’t heard about the game for, what, 3, 4 years? Either way, Deep Silver assures us (via the series official Twitter account) that it’s still in development, and that they’ll share more information at a later date.

Dead Island 2 is still in development and we will share more on this at a later stage.

When will that later date be? I dunno. But it should probably be soon, because Dead Island 2 is still slated to come out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You know, assuming the generation doesn’t end before it comes out.
