As reported by IGN, a Devil May Cry animated series is in the works. And You’ll have Netflix’s Castlevania producer Adi Shankar to thank for it.

Shankar also mentioned that this series “will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse.” Which doesn’t make a terribly large amount of sense, given that they’re all essentially official, but he’s earned that leeway.

Shankar has let little on what the series will be like slip. But according to him:

[He] acquired these (Devil May Cry) rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too.

Which is why we can’t see Keiji Inafune anywhere near it. So, you know, good. It just better keep the goofy, fun bits like this in:

Also, you know, Reuben Langdon and mandatory, once a season impalement for Dante, which he deals with in the least efficient way. Basically, what I’m saying is, make these guys happy and we’ll all be happy.
