Specific Telltale Games Removed From Steam Ahead Of Studio Shutdown

Saran wrap all you can.

As Telltale Games  has been going through the process of liquidating their assets, certain of their games have been removed from Steam. According to GameDaily.biz, they’ve been working with Sherwood Partners to get through their shutdown.

The process is very similar to bankruptcy; they need to sell off assets to meet their debt. These assets run the gamut, from physical goods to source code.

As for ex-Telltale employees, they’ll have their post-employment health insurance (COBRA, which is what it is) through November 30, 2018. Normally, this employee- paid, employer-provided coverage would last 18 months past end of employment. But given the state the company is in, it’s apparently not required.

As or the games that have been removed from Steam, they include The Walking Dead, Back to the Future, and Tales of Monkey Island. Their other titles, however, currently remain available for purchase.

That said, anyone following The Walking Dead  should know that the final season will be distributed through Robert Kirkman’s Skybound.
