Final Fantasy IX Hits iOS and Android

Final Fantasy IX Mobile

It was only a few short weeks ago that Square Enix dropped the news that it would be bringing out the fantastic (and probably last true) Final Fantasy IX to mobile devices. While we got to see some footage, as well as showing of just how the game will handle on a mobile, we didn’t get a release window for the title. Sure, we expected sometime in 2016, but we would never have guessed that it would be today, only a few weeks shy of the original announcement.

You can pick up Final Fantasy IX starting today on both Android and iOS respectively. A lot of modern fans of the series may never have played the original Final Fantasy IX, so this is the perfect chance to play the best, yes, best, Final Fantasy from the PlayStation 1 era. The game is currently on sale with a launch special of $16.99 until February 21st.

That’s a hefty price tag for a game on a mobile, but if anyone is going to jump on this, it sure as heck will be Final Fantasy fans. Still, you can currently score a hard copy for PS1 on Amazon for less that $15 if you have a PS1, PS2, or PS3 to play it on.

If you are going to be playing FFIX on you mobile, be sure to make some room, as the game will eat up 2GB of space.
