‘Ghostbusters’ Star Harold Ramis Passes Away at Age 69

Harold Ramis, best know for his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in the ‘Ghostbusters’ series of films has passed away today at the age of 69.

His wife Erica Mann Ramis told the Chicago Tribune  her husband died early this morning from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis.

Autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis is a rare disease which causes a swelling of the blood vessels. He had been dealing with complications with the disease since 2010.

“His creativity, compassion, intelligence, humor and spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him,” read a press release from his agency.

 Mr. Ramis is survived by his wife Erica, two sons Julian and Daniel, daughter Violet and two grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed and will live on in the hearts and minds of ‘Ghostbusters’ fans all over the world.
