Gotham casts its Riddler

The Riddler was never my favorite Batman villain. To me, he always seemed like the Joker, if the Joker went out of his way to get caught via a series of easily decipherable clues. But I’m not running Fox’s upcoming Gotham, so no one gives a shit what I think about the Riddler, who will be played by an actor named Cory Michael Smith.

Entertainment Weekly describes Edward Nygma, aka the Riddler, thusly:

…Nygma is a brilliant young forensic scientist working for Gotham PD and a penchant for speaking in … rather cryptic language. Inquisitive, eccentric and outgoing — yet socially awkward — he wants to be liked, but he doesn’t quite know how.

So, he writes for GAMbIT, then? Smith joins a cast that already includes the likes of Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett Smith (playing a gangster named “Fish Mooney,” which, LOL).
