The Grudge is getting a reboot, because why the hell not

Well, it’s been about twenty-four hours since we reported on a reboot or remake, so this is a lucky break.

Deadline is reporting that Good Universe and Ghost House Pictures have tapped Jeff Buhler, writer of Midnight Meat Train, to reboot The Grudge, presumably to start a new franchise, because new ideas are only for poor losers. Keep in mind that The Grudge 3 came out only five years ago.

There’s no director attached yet, but I’m gonna assume it’ll be Marcus Nispel, who knows a thing or two about remakes. In the meantime, I guess we should all get ready for reboots of The Ring, The Eye, and any other J-horror franchise, because everything is fucking cyclical and we’re all gonna watch the same movies over and over until we’re dead.
