Straight from the hard-hitters at Entertainment Tonight comes the trailer for Annie, the modern-day retelling of the story of everyone’s favorite little orphan. (Ed. Note: No one has cared about “Annie” in a few decades.) Let’s check it out:
HAHAHAHAHA what the fuck? Poor Quvenzhane Wallis, this looks dumb as shit. Of course Cameron Diaz is miscast, just like she was in – let me check my figures here – every movie she’s ever been in. Instead of playing Daddy Warbucks, Jamie Foxx plays Will Stacks – or is it Benjamin? IMDb and several websites say “Benjamin,” but the trailer clearly says “Will,” so we’re entering the lightning round of WTF. I just admire the restraint that went into not calling him Benjamin $tack$.
Annie is directed by Will Gluck (Easy A), which is another red flag. People seem to be excited that Jay Z is producing the music, but keep in mind that “Hard Knock Life” is the dumbest song Jay Z ever wrote.
