J.J. Abrams will Direct a Live-Action Adaptation of Your Name

Your Name

Why?!

Did you like Your Name? Well, you’re going to want to sit down for this. You know, if you’re not already sitting down.

J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, along with Paramount Pictures, won the rights to create a live-action adaptation of the film. The film which literally came out last year to wild success and critical acclaim. I don’t get it. And I doubt you do either.

Ah screw it, just dump American Akira on me, Hollywood. You’ve been threatening us with that for like a decade anyway. Can it possibly hurt more than Netflix’s Death Note? Well, yeah, it can, but you get my point. I guess we can just cross our fingers and hope Your Name turns the page on the constant string of bad American Anime to Live-Action movies.
