Jude Law Will Play Young Dumbledore in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Sequel

There sure is a lot of casting news going around today for some really big projects. It’s being reported that Jude Law has been tapped to play the young Dumbledore in the upcoming sequel to  Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them from Warner Bros.

David Yates is returning to the directors chair once again in the followup that will see Dumbledore (Law) go up against his one-time buddy-turned-villain Gellert Grindelwald (Depp).

J.K. Rowling has stated that “Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was.” In the sequel, “you will see Dumbledore as a younger man and quite a troubled man. We’ll see him at that formative period of his life.”

With a script by J.K. Rowling the sequel to  Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will see all the main players return, but this time the film will take place in Paris and England.
