Do not pursue Lu Bu
So, apparently, there’s been a Dynasty Warriors movie in the works, and the trailer just sprung up online. Granted, that basically means that it’s a hack-and-slash-y version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but who’s complaining? They even went all out with the epic trailer music!
There’s one caveat, however: it’s only set to launch in Hong Kong on April 29th, with a county-wide release in China on the 30th. There are no plans for it to go anywhere else (or at least, none evident).
And when I say that it just sprung up online, I don’t mean literally. This was actually a film that was in development several years ago (the first trailer was actually from 2018), with a planned 2019 release, that got pushed back due to delays, and then you can do the math on the rest.
Still, it’s hard to deny that it certainly looks like exactly what you’d want in a Dynasty Warriors movie, complete with faceless cannon-fodder being sent flying by sword and polearm attacks. All it’s really missing is a terrible English dub.
