Matt Smith, the once space adventuring time lord, looks to have landed his next longterm gig after Doctor Who. Mr. Smith is reportedly (according to Deadline), is making his way onto the big screen to take part in the new Terminator trilogy. Deadline is also reporting that Matt will play “a major role that will grow in the second and third films.” 

This new film titled, Terminator: Genesis is scheduled to hit theaters July 1st, 2015.

While there may not be any Tardis action to be seen, Matt should feel right at home with the whole time-travel business that is Terminator.

Personally, I’ll just imagine he is the Doctor on one of his crazy adventures.
