Overwatch has just launched a new Assault map: Horizon Lunar Colony. It’s the former home of Overwatch’s Winston, and may well have story significance beyond that, given a few of the hints in the map’s trailer.
Among the many feature of the map, there are a few gems hidden away. You can find Winston’s childhood room tucked away. You can also, if you’re on the attacking team, start in the telescope room from Winston’s animated short. And all of the monitors have something worth reading on them, with mentions of a test subject Hammond being the most foreboding. But the most interesting part of the arena is the Moon gravity area. Its gravity used to apply to the entire map, but they restricted it to the areas outside the base proper to keep it from breaking things.
That said, they’re letting players play around with the gravity in custom games this week, so they’re certain to get some valuable feedback on the mechanic. And probably on this “Hammond” character, too.
