P.T. Anderson’s Inherent Vice looks amazing

After Punch-Drunk Love, Paul Thomas Anderson took a surprising (and excellent) detour into strange, experimental filmmaking with There Will be Blood and The Master, but with Inherent Vice it looks like he’s lightening up a bit. Based on Thomas Pynchon’s novel, Vice is a 1970-set surfer noir that looks like The Big Lebowski by way of Anderson. In short, it looks fantastic, Martin Short notwithstanding.
