SDCC 2017: Lego Ninjago Movie trailer

Reminder that Lego Movies are funny.

Look, most of the time, I skip over Cartoon Network when Ninjago is on. It’s sort of the arch-typical thing to get you to buy their sets, in my opinion. Which is why the trailer for the movie got me.

Within a half-minute, they’ve already dropped a figure of speech joke. A good one, at that. And while there’s plenty on tap in the movie there’s one big thing that is definitely the centerpiece. As a person who lives in a house with cats, I can say, definitively, that they make excellent Kaiju.

Also, as a kid that played with LEGO, this movie gets it. Half the fun of the minifigs was the fact that all of their limbs were removable. Long story short, I was always a little disappointed that I was never able to get any LEGO wheelchairs. So an “arm ripped out” joke absolutely hit home.

The LEGO® Ninjago® Movie will be in theaters October
