Duhhh naaaah, nuh nuh na na naaaaaa.
Look, I was a pretty big fan of Stargate back in the day. But even I’d have a hard time justifying paying for a streaming service that’s nothing but Stargate, even if that includes all of the movies and shows.
But MGM really wants you to buy a subscription to Stargate Command, so they’ve done something. They’ve uploaded the entire original Stargate movie to YouTube, in the hopes that you’ll remember your love for Stargate and buy a subscription.
No shit, it’s the entire damn movie, in glorious 480p. Which sounds worse than it is, but things weren’t shot in 100K back then, so it still looks pretty good. It’s probably my favorite Roland Emmerich movie, period. So, maybe, watch it and at least contemplate getting a subscription to Stargate Command, I guess?
As a side note, Stargate Command has apps for iOS and Android, as well as “Gate Cast” so you can send it to various compatible devices and Google Cast-ready devices. So, at the very least, you can take your obsession with you on the go.
