Think Big.
Ever watch something on a streaming service and think, “you know, this would be great in IMAX”? Well, it could become a thing. IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond informed investors that his company is in discussions with “all” streaming companies to make that happen. And Gelfond considers the move “inevitable”.
The real stumbling block here is theaters, themselves. They already view internet streaming as a threat to their bottom line, and nowadays, you’ll most commonly find an IMAX theater hosted inside one of the major chains. Things could get messy if they refuse to play ball.
