Sylvester Stallone Staring In First Television Series “Omerta”

Sylvester Stallone is heading to the small screen with the adaptation of Mario Puzo’s last book in his Mafia series, Omerta. Antoine Fuqua (The Magnificent Seven) is set to direct the project.

It’s Funny how everything comes full circle in Hollywood, as Stallone was original attached to be a part of Godfather Part III in some capacity before Coppola returned to the project.

Omerta is not yet attached to any networks, but the project is set to start filming “as early as this summer” According to The Hollywood Reporter. The man behind Southpaw, Training Day, and The Magnificent Seven will reportedly be pitching it to cable and streaming services soon.

The Italian Stallion will star as the mafia boss in a story centered around him. This is the first scripted television series for an actor best known for his work on the Rocky, Rambo, and a ton of other manly movie franchises.

The three-time Oscar nominee is expanding his horizon in his golden years, as he is also reported to appear in next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
